Winding River Preserve is a gated community consisting of thousands of acres of large tract parcels ranging from 20 to 600 acres. Timber land lies Southeast and much of the North side is bordered by a large ranch. WRP is a homes only subdivision, without a deadline to build, and allows camping and usage for hunting and recreation.
Wildlife abounds throughout. On any given day, one can find Whitetail Deer, Osceola Turkey, Wild Hogs, Quail and Ducks. If you are into fishing, the Suwannee, Santa Fe and Waccasassa Rivers are minutes away, and the Gulf of Mexico is a half hour to the West.
A low yearly fee is collected to maintain the coded electric gates and the roadways throughout the community.
If you want to view any of the available properties, you will need to go with an agent. However, if you would like to drive by, take SR 24 southwest from Gainesville to Bronson; turn right at the light onto 27 continue North for 3.2 miles to CR 339, bear right on CR 339 and continue for 4.2 miles to the main Winding River Preserve gate.
